High Eight

Another release for me this week, this time in the stunning Bobby Lorenz & Kristoph Remix of ‘Rock My World’, my last single on Re:Connect with Liz Melody.

It’s released as part of a digital only series Re:Connect are doing called “Re:Connect Re:Works”, which features new mixes of back catalogue tracks.

Ya heard! My new single “Coming To” is out NOW on Re:Connect!

Here’s the sales pitch:

On the A, the original “Coming To” kicks off with crisp rolling beats, a throbbing bass and dark stabs, before a bubbling dirty analogue riff creeps it’s way in driving the track along. This one has undertones of Underworld and Chemical Brothers, albeit with a fat nasty breakbeat on it! Tried and tested in the clubs, this one definitely rocks the dancefloor!

On remix duties this time comes relative newcomer, but one-to-watch Blazerflame. We were so taken with his previous work “50 Cent Bitch” and “Blazerflail” (to name but two), we had to get this guy in on a remix! Blazerflame’s remix takes the hooky parts of the original, cutting up the vocal snippets, and twisting the vibe in a way only he can. In places, this one wouldn’t sound out of place in a George A. Romero movie! Scarily good!

Rennie Pilgrem, breaks megadon, has reviewed my forthcoming single “Coming To” in the latest issue of iDJ magazine.  It’s credited as being the wrong label (it’s coming out on Re:Connect, not Promo Records) but needless to say I’m over the moon!

“Coming To” is out in all good record stores on 5th May, so keep an eye out at your local shop, or online store!

I just finished another new remix, this time for one of my favourite labels - En:Vision Recordings!

The original is by Ground Control from Los Angeles, and is called “Be Nice” - it’s a stomping dirty 4×4 number and I’ve given it a breaks spin.

I did a mix back in December 07 for a website and it never got used.  I was real pleased with it as it was part “back to mine” and part DJ mix so was an opportunity to play some slightly different stuff.
