My recent remix for TCR - the rather awesome “Don’t Burn” by Rennie Pilgrem & Arthur Baker - is OUT NOW!
It’s a Beatport Exclusive for now, and you might find it a little hard to find if you’re searching for me, as I’m down as “Hi8″ on there rather than High Eight. I really should’ve thought my name through a little better.
The remix I did for Dead Famous is out now on Beatport! It’s a tune called Rock The Mic by Break The Box, and it’s part of a package that also features remixes from Metachemical, Attack Release, and Robosapiens.
At the last minute, I’m stepping up and covering for Hex The Dex today on NSB Radio. It’s 5-7pm, and you can head over to www.nsbradio.co.uk for more info on how to tune in.
If you’re so inclined, you can get involved in the chat room too. Just click here to log in.
I’m going to be doing my usual warm-up slot at this year’s TCR Barbecue again!
This year it’s on Saturday 11th July at it’s spiritual home Lockside Lounge in Camden. Proceedings kick off at 2pm and if you’ve got the stamina you can rave on til 3 in the morning!
I’m very excited to be playing at Boomslang in Cambridge again this weekend! I’ll be playing upstairs in Room 2 as part of the TCR takeover, alongside Koma & Bones, and the one and only Rennie Pilgrem!
The main room is a huge line up too, with Annie Mac and DJ Zinc playing headline sets, accompanied by Boomslang residents That Girl DJ and Mr B, plus The Priory.
I’m going to be presenting a TCR Special tribute show alongside That Girl DJ tonight on NSB Radio!
It’s the first Wednesday of the month, and that means it’s Boomslang Beats time! Tonight it’s a very special TCR tribute show, ahead of this weekend’s Boomslang event at the Junction in Cambridge, where Rennie Pilgrem & TCR will be taking over Room 2 for some serious celebrations!
Without Rennie Pilgrem’s TCR there would be no Nu Skool Breaks, no Friction with Adam Freeland & Tayo, no HUM with Meat Katie, no Breaksday at The Glade Festival, no Stir. Founded in 1993 out of the ashes of the UK rave scene, TCR has the largest back catalogue of breaks-based music on the planet. They have constantly pushed boundaries and taken chances, and have garnered a hugely loyal following.
Tonight Boomslang resident That Girl DJ and TCR megafan High Eight, take us through some of this classic label’s back catalogue from it’s very beginnings, right up to it’s latest releases.

Here’s some more links to my blog posts over on This Is Breaks, this week’s focusses on planning and deadlines - something I’ve found it hard to stick to lately!
I’ve been working on a new remix collaboration style, with That Girl DJ, and we’re really pleased with the results!
It’s a remix of the forthcoming Platinum Mules tune “Fresh Start” on Re:Connect, and we’ve gone for a “breaks meets house” style and it came out great!

This one will be out in June, and will feature the awesome original, plus a dark Truskool mix from Mesmer! More info as soon as we have it over at www.reconnectrecords.com
